How to keep business data private when using AI
AI is easier to trust when you decide in advance what goes into it. This isn't legal advice, and the rules for customer data depend on where you are, so check what applies to you.
Keep these out of AI chats
For most work, AI doesn't need the real details. Made-up numbers and names work just as well while you build or test something.
- Passwords and access keys
- Customers' names, addresses and contact details
- Anything you've promised to keep confidential
Check your AI's settings
Your chats may be stored, and depending on your plan and settings, they may be used for training. Look in the settings of the AI you use, and read its own pages, because these rules change. The course also covers keeping the tools you build private, including why a password box in a page isn't a lock.
