How to write better AI prompts for work
A simple question gets a simple answer. AI can only work with what you tell it, so a good prompt gives it your situation and asks for the rest.
Say what could be relevant
Some details don't change the answer, but they change what gets built. If you use particular software, or you'll be on your phone when you need the result, say so. AI can't plan for what it doesn't know.
Don't just say "ask me questions"
That's too vague. AI might ask anything, or ten things at once. Telling it to make a best guess is worse, because you get invented numbers that look real.
Practise it on a real job
The free first lesson teaches a four-part prompt by having you use it. The full course includes ready-to-copy prompts for building tools, changing them safely, reporting bugs and more.
